Interpret a Dream with Tarot

I had a dream on Monday night that chilled me to the bone–for the first time ever, I had the classic night terror complete with paralysis. I could only move my feet. To escape the clutches of this creepy dream, I kicked at my husband and whimpered his name as loud as I could until he woke me up. It was just awful. Even after I was fully awake, I couldn’t shake it. The dream was very surreal–at one point I had a blue ball of energy stuck over my head that contained the screams of hundreds of people; at another point I was trapped in the square of what looked like a waffle. This morning, still unable to fully strip myself of the eerie feeling this dream left, I sat down with the tarot to work on sorting things out.

Through using the tarot, I was able to take the sting out of this dream and to discover areas of my life that I can work on, including several fears. If you have a dream you want to know more about, I recommend giving this a try!

In working with dreams and tarot, it’s good to create your own spread based on what happened in the dream, in addition to some more traditional positions. I recommend having a card to symbolize the dream, itself, and then create positions for each of the symbols that stood out to you in the dream, to help determine what they symbolized. After that, you can add other positions, such as what the lesson of the dream was, what message you may have missed from the dream, and what part of your life the dream addressed. If you had a particularly strong reaction to the dream, as I did, you can also add a position to help find out why you reacted the way you did. Using this method, the meaning of the dream will become clearer and you will have significant insight into some aspect of your life.

If you create your own interpretation spread for a dream you’ve had, feel free to share any insights you received or positions you found useful. Or, if would like some help interpreting a dream you’ve had, you can schedule a reading and we’ll see what your dreams and the tarot are shedding light on, together.
